Searching and Filtering Incidents
Find exactly the incidents you need with full-text search, status tabs, date ranges, flag filters, and saved presets.
Full-Text Search
The search bar at the top of the incidents list lets you find incidents by keyword. Steward searches across titles, descriptions, involved party names, and follow-up content.
- Press
/from anywhere on the incidents page to jump directly to the search bar - Results update as you type—no need to press Enter
- Search terms are highlighted in the matching results
Tip: Search for specific names, locations, or keywords from descriptions to quickly locate a record.
Status Tabs
The status tabs above the incidents list let you filter by workflow stage. Click any tab to show only incidents in that status:
- All: Every incident you have permission to view
- Submitted: New reports awaiting review
- Under Review: Incidents currently being investigated
- Action Needed: Incidents requiring follow-up or a response
- Closed: Resolved incidents
- Locked: Finalized, immutable records
Status tabs work alongside search and filters—you can combine them to narrow results further.
Date and Flag Filters
Use the filter controls to refine your view beyond status:
- Date range: Filter incidents by when they occurred. Select a start and end date, or choose preset ranges like "Last 7 days" or "This month"
- Urgent: Show only incidents flagged as urgent
- Private: Show only private incidents (visible to Privileged Reviewers and above)
- Legal Hold: Show incidents under legal hold
Multiple filters can be active at once. Active filters are shown as badges so you always know what's applied.
Saved Filter Presets
If you regularly use the same combination of filters, save them as a preset for one-click access in the future.
- Set up your desired filters (status, date range, flags)
- Click Save Preset and give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Urgent This Month" or "Children's Ministry - Open")
- Access your saved presets from the filter dropdown anytime
- Presets are personal to your account—they won't affect other users
You can rename or delete saved presets at any time from the same dropdown.
Selecting Multiple Incidents
You can select multiple incidents from the list to perform bulk actions:
- Click the checkbox next to individual incidents to select them
- Use the header checkbox to select all visible incidents on the current page
- A toolbar appears showing how many incidents are selected and the available actions
Bulk selection is available to Reviewers and above. See Bulk Actions for details on what you can do with selected incidents.
