Bulk Actions

Save time by updating multiple incidents at once with bulk status changes, assignments, and exports.

Who Can Use Bulk Actions

Bulk actions are available to Reviewers, Privileged Reviewers, Administrators, and Owners. Reporters do not have access to bulk actions.

Each action respects your role permissions—you can only perform bulk operations that your role would allow on individual incidents. For example, only Privileged Reviewers and above can bulk-apply a legal hold.

Selecting Incidents

Before performing a bulk action, select the incidents you want to act on:

  • Use the checkbox next to each incident to select it individually
  • Click the header checkbox to select all incidents on the current page
  • Use search and filters first to narrow the list, then select

Once you've selected one or more incidents, a bulk action toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen showing your selection count and available actions.

Available Actions

The following actions can be performed in bulk:

Bulk Status Change

Move multiple incidents to a new status at once. This follows the same status workflow rules as individual changes—you can only transition incidents to valid next states.

Bulk Assignment

Assign multiple incidents to a specific team member for review. Useful when distributing work among reviewers or reassigning after a staffing change.

Bulk Export

Generate export packets for multiple incidents at once. Each incident produces its own complete export with cover page, summary, follow-ups, and audit trail.

The Confirmation Step

Every bulk action requires an explicit confirmation before it executes. When you click an action button, a confirmation dialog appears showing:

  • The number of incidents that will be affected
  • The specific action that will be performed
  • Any incidents that cannot be included (for example, locked incidents cannot have their status changed)

This step is intentional.Bulk actions affect multiple records at once, and incident data is immutable after submission. The confirmation ensures you don't accidentally modify records you didn't intend to change.

Each bulk action is logged in the audit trail of every affected incident, so there is always a record of what changed and who changed it.
